Yes, Basil grown in Food for Thought's organic farm combines with strawberries grown by Bernie and Sandy Ware of Ware Farm in Bear Lake, Michigan. This preserves transcends breakfast. Try it as a meat glaze or as the base of a salad dressing. Of course it also makes the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the planet. Bernie and Sandy pick these Morning Glow strawberries early in the morning and deliver them to Food for Thought's facility where they sort and wash by hand to assure gentle handling and that only the best berries get used. Bernie and Sandy have a wonderful farm where they also grow organic asparagus and garden vegetables. If you ever pass through in the summer, check out their home baked strawberry pies at their farm stand! Their strawberries can also be found in Food for Thought's Fruit Juice Sweetened Strawberry Preserve and Fruit Juice Sweetened Mixed Berry Preserve. To their credit Bernie and Sandy are leaders in their community and have been supportive participants in the Domestic Fair Trade pilot program.
